Last year Louisa Ulrich-Verderber was awarded a $5000 Product Development Voucher/CMF Adopt a Maker Award to create a new wind generator influenced by The Netherland’s engineer artists; James Schenck, was awarded a $2500 Product Development Voucher/Adopt a Maker Project Award to develop a robotic arm for roadside and challenging mowing; and Albert Echt was awarded a $2500 Product Development Voucher/Adopt a Maker Project Award to create an electric bike utilizing the latest in battery technologies. What: CMF partnership with Green Mountain Performing Arts in Waterbury Champlain Maker Faire in teaming up with Green Mountain Performing Arts to merge making and performing arts. Week long camps include Robots with R4K2 June 27-July 1 9:00 am – 12:30 ages 7-10; Drone and Flight with Northern Drones June 27-July 1 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm ages 9-12, and E-wearables with Cynthia Day July 25 – 29 9:00 am – 12:30 pm ages 6-8 and Advanced E-wearables July 25 – 29 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm ages 9-11. What: The second annual Rutland Maker Faire is about to kick off for July 30 in downtown Rutland. The fair greatly increased attendance of the annual Side Walk Sale Days. The faire will be expanded to other parts of the town and include involvement of additional down town businesses.
